"Creativity speaks the language of the soul"

This is MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND OBSERVATION – you have the chance to explore and see for yourself.
I am DEFINITELY FOR CREATIVITY – always. It is a POWERFUL "TOOL" and "INSTRUMENT". BUT LIKE ANY “TOOL”, YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT.
If you don’t, it can amplify what’s already present –if there’s stress, then more stress. If there’s insecurity, then even more insecurity.
If there’s anger or sadness, then more of that too.
WHY?
Why does this happen?
Simply put – creativity also requires energy, resources, and certain skills. But the most common reason (not the only one, of course) for imbalance is fatigue and lack of energy. How that energy was depleted – that’s a personal story for everyone. And high expectations and pressure for a specific end result, without having the skills yet, can lead even deeper into dissatisfaction.
HOW TO MAKE IT HELPFUL?
To explain that more fully, I first want to share what I see as the healing element in creativity. Of course, there are many ways to look at it – but for me, the SPIRITUAL and ENERGETIC aspect is most important. IN MY VIEW, WHAT HEALS IS THE CONNECTION WITH THE TRUE SELF AND BEING – some call it the higher self.AND CREATIVE ACTIVITIES CAN BECOME A BRIDGE TO THAT.
So, in short:
To experience what people usually expect from creativity – JOY, CALM, HARMONY, SELF-EXPRESSION, FULFILLMENT, INSPIRATION, etc. –you need a connection and an understanding of what YOU WANT FROM THE PROCESS.
Is it about the PROCESS or the RESULT – or maybe both? :) (I’ll definitely write a separate article on that.)
HOW TO DO THAT?
In the creative process – BE IN A CONVERSATION WITH YOURSELF.
Truly, a conversation with yourself. Turn off the TV. Turn off everything that distracts you from your own thoughts and feelings. Be PRESENT – notice your sensations, observe your thoughts. If you drift away from what you’re doing, gently return and bring your attention back – to the process, to what your hands are doing, to your breath, to your inner state. GIVE YOURSELF TIME – both to learn what you're doing so that you enjoy the result, and also to “build the bridge.”
For many years, painting has served as a spiritual practice and meditation for me – it’s become a part of my life. What I can promise is this: if you start including creativity as a daily practice –even if it doesn’t go perfectly at first – over time, you’ll come to love the result, AND THE PROCESS ITSELF WILL BE HEALING.
Creativity is the LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL. When you feel joyful and happy, it flows naturally. But when you don’t, creativity may fade too – and that’s simply a sign that it’s time to turn inward.
